New Cub Scout Programme Books for Cub Scouts of Sri Lanka
Marks the Conclusion of a Successful “Cub Scouting for Everyone” Project in Sri Lanka

The newly completed Cub Scout Programme books in all three languages were presented to the Chief Commissioner, Mr. Janaprith Fernando; and to the National Program Commissioner, Mr. Sarath Matararachchi by the Former Assistant Chief Commissioner (Cubs), Mrs. Wathsala Wijewickrama on Wednesday 22nd November 2023 at the National Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Scout Association in Colombo.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner, Mr. M. F. S. Muheed, and Assistant Chief Commissioner Cubs Mrs. Renuka Silva were also present at this occasion.

Publishing the new Cub Scout Programme books was a component of the “Cub Scouting for Everyone” programme, which was inaugurated in 2021 and concluded in early 2023. This islandwide project was carried out with the aim of making Cub Scouting more accessible and saw a tremendous increase in Cub Scout enrollments from 15,000 Cub Scouts in 2016 to 45,000 at the project conclusion in early 2022.

The Cub Scouting for Everyone programme was a collaborative effort between the Sri Lanka Scout Association and the Asia Pacific Regional Scout Foundation of the World Scout Organization under the Messenger of Peace Program
