The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in Society.

SPECIAL - JAMBOREE ON THE INTERNET (JOTI)

We are pleased to inform you that the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) has taken steps to organise a Special Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) for the benefit of the Scouts who are unable to take part in normal scout activities in their countries due to the Covid 19 pandemic which has affected almost all National Scout Organisations (NSO's) This will be a great opportunity for your scouts to Stay Home, Stay Safe and actively participate in scout activities for 3 days from Friday 3rd April to Sunday 5th April 2020. Scouts stay at home activity.

Scouts are advised to Do a good deed everyday at home and record in their log books.  Cub Scouts also can keep a record of their activities and produce  it to Akelas when schools reopen. SLSA will recognize and make a presentation to all those who do this exercise methodically. DCs please appoint a commissioner / leader to coordinate this in your districts.

CORONA VIRUS.

National Scout Headquarters requests all scouts and leaders to cooperate by observing the  health regulations announced by the Government and Health authorities in the prevention and eradication of the Corona Virus or Covid 19. Avoid all gatherings and stay at home.    NHQ advises all to wash hands with soap for 20 seconds,  Drink plenty of water,  Coriander water, (Koththamalli) King coconut water (Thambili) and avoid Sugar & sweets.    It is also advised to take Vitamin C and consume only Home made food and 6 - 8 hours of sleep.   Do not get near anyone who has symptoms of cold or cough and wear...

Badges and Awards for scouts.

National Scout Headquarters has decided to grant a 6 week grace period from 12 March 2020 to those who will be affected by not being able to pass their badges which will have an effect on winning their awards. All DCs are requested to inform all Scout Groups in the District. No backdating will be allowed. They will have to enter exact dates of passing.
