SCOUTING IN NEW COMMUNITIES PROJECT VAVUNIYA MEETING HELD TODAY.

The Vavuniya District Meeting was held today 15 November 2022 at the auditorium of the District Secretariat at 2.30 p.m.
presided over by Mr. sarath Chandra the District Secretary/GA.

After Religious Observances the District Commissioner Mr. G. Kamalakumar gave the Welcome Address.

Mr M. F. S. Muheed, Deputy Chief Commissioner in his address explained about the Scout Movement and the Scouting in new communities project in detail followed by a video presentation on the Scout Movement and it’s recent activities

The District Secretary in his address stated the importance of scouting and for the Principals and Teachers to get actively involved and promote the scout movement and his support will always be there.
He further thanked the Sri Lanka Scout Association Commissioners for their presence in introducing this project and wished the project all success.

The Zonal Director of Education of Vavuniya North Mr. Lenin addressed the gathering and requested all Principals and teachers to implement the project with responsibility.

Mr. Mariyanayagam, District Education Officer of Vavuniya South also addressed the gathering.

Mr.S. Amalaraj, Asst. Headquarters Commissioner and Coordinator for Vavuniya District proposed the Vote of thanks and in his address stressed the importance of young people could benefit from scouting and recalled the days when Vavuniya District was very active.

Large gathering of Principals and Teachers participated.
