Colombo Rovers launched the First NFT Scout Badge in Sri Lanka celebrating 110 Years of Scouting in the Country

Colombo Rovers led by the 75th Colombo District Rover Crew launched the Firstever NFT Scout Badge in Sri Lanka on 18th December 2022 in the presence of a distinguished audience of officials from the Sri Lanka Scout Association. Scouting in Sri Lanka which began in 1912 celebrates its 110th Anniversary this year, and a series of activities are planned to be held on 23rd December 2022 all around the island in celebration of the anniversary. A special Scout Badge was designed for the anniversary and the Colombo Rovers pioneered once again to launch an NFT (Nonfungible Token) version of this anniversary badge, making it the first blockchainauthenticated Digital Scout Asset in Sri Lanka.


The Chief Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, Mr. Janaprith Fernando became the first Sri Lankan to mint an NFT Scout Badge, and a limited number of this NFT Scout Badge will be available for the participants of the Colombo Scouts Celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Sri Lankan Scouting, which will take place on Friday, 23rd December 2022 starting with a Scout Walk from near the Scout Statue close to Viharamahadevi Park (at 2.30 p.m.) to Galle Face Green, a Model Campsite and a Scout Activity Center at Galle Face Green (from 4.00 6.00 p.m.) and ending with a Public Campfire at Galle Face Green (from 6.00 p.m.onwards).
