ADC – Commissioner’s (training) workshop of support

Commissioner’s training workshop conducted at the National Scout Headquarters on 2026-02-07 in support conducted by the National Coaching Division of the Sri Lanka Scout Association.
The program was conducted under the direction of National Training Commissioner Colonel Padmalal Perera under the guidance of Mr. Manoj Lasantha Nanayakkara, Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scout Association.
Conducting the opening lecture of the program, Chief Commissioner Manoj Nanayakkara said that the backbone training section of the scout campaign and that out of ten thousand schools in Sri Lanka, the scouting work is spreading in a small quantity so it should be positively and quality. That’s why they give their best support. He also announced that training centers will be developed and applied for outdoor training activities.
28 Commissioners attended supporting 28 Scout districts across Sri Lanka and engaged in several leadership and practical sessions.
Assistant District Commissioners (Training) Workshop
The Assistant District Commissioners (Training) Workshop, organized by the National Training Department of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, was successfully held on 07 February 2026 at the National Scout Headquarters.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Chief Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, Attorney-at-Law Mr. Manoj Lasantha Nanayakkara, and under the leadership of the National Training Commissioner, Colonel Padmalal Perera.
Delivering the inaugural address, Chief Commissioner Mr. Manoj Nanayakkara emphasized that the Training Department is the backbone of the Scout Movement. He further highlighted that although Sri Lanka has nearly ten thousand schools, Scouting activities are currently active only in a limited number of them. Therefore, he stressed the need to enhance Scouting both quantitatively and qualitatively, assuring his fullest support towards achieving this goal. He also stated that training centres would be further developed and utilized for external training programmes as well.
Representing all 28 Scout Districts across Sri Lanka, 28 Assistant District Commissioners (Training) participated in the workshop. The participants actively engaged in several leadership and practical sessions, making the programme both productive and impactful.
Training ethics.
One day training ethics for district commissioners responsible for training organized by National Training Unit under the guidance of Prime Scout Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scout Association Manoj Lasantha Nanayakkara.
District Commissioners, Headquarters, Assistant Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners from all districts attended this training protocol led by National Training Commissioner Padmalal Perera.
Training provided on various topics such as creating a happy scout life, hiring training commissioners provincially, providing training methods for responsible assistance commissioners.
