The Department of International Scouting of the Sri Lanka Scout Association recorded a historic milestone in the nation’s scouting history by organizing the first-ever โ€œInternational Representation Awards & Fellowship 2026โ€.
Held on May 24, 2026, at the Avenra Beach Hotel in Hikkaduwa, the landmark event brought together around 400 participants to formally celebrate and recognize Sri Lankan Scouts and Leaders who proudly carried the national flag at global scouting events throughout 2025 and early 2026.
Organized based on a visionary concept by International Commissioner Dr. Asanka Eriyawa and executed under the guidance of Chief Commissioner Mr. Manoj Nanayakkara, Attorney-at-Law, the ceremony marked the first time international participant recognition had been structured on such a grand national scale in Sri Lanka.
The dayโ€™s proceedings served a profound dual purpose: officially appreciating the discipline, dedication, and diplomacy of Sri Lankaโ€™s global ambassadors, while simultaneously creating a vibrant space to foster lifelong scout fellowship.
A major highlight of the event was the official launch of the โ€œSri Lanka Scout Association International Fellowshipโ€ badge, signaling a progressive new chapter for the associationโ€™s global engagement and international brotherhood.
The celebrations smoothly transitioned from formal honors into a lively, high-energy environment featuring the โ€œSL Scouts Got Talentโ€ segment, where scouts showcased their diverse performing talents, before concluding with vibrant DJ entertainment and fellowship activities.
The prestigious gathering was graced by an array of distinguished dignitaries, international guests, and scouting pioneers who were warmly welcomed to the event.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of its Chief Guest, Mr. Ismail Rifau, State Minister of the Government of Maldives and Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Maldives.
The leadership of the Sri Lanka Scout Association was strongly represented, led by Chief Commissioner Mr. Manoj Nanayakkara (Attorney-at-Law), International Commissioner Dr. Asanka Eriyawa, National Training Commissioner Colonel Padmalal Perera, and National Programme Commissioner Mr. Geeth Ramesh.
