The program began with the National Anthem, followed by the traditional lighting of the oil lamp and religious observances, creating a solemn and respectful atmosphere.
International Commissioner Dr. Asanka Eriyawa delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the Chief Guest, Chief Commissioner Attorney-at-Law Mr. Janaprith Fernando, along with Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. M. F. S. Muheed, National Training Commissioner Mr. Padmalal Perera, National Programme Commissioner Mr. Ruwan Ariyarathne, Assistant Chief Commissioners, Headquarters Commissioners, Assistant Headquarters Commissioners, and the members of the three delegations.
A special address was then made by Rover Scout Hansith Perera, Sri Lanka’s candidate for the Asia-Pacific Regional Youth Representative elections, a historic first for the Sri Lanka Scout Association.
The ceremonial handing over of the National Flag and presentation of air tickets to the 11th Asia-Pacific Scout Youth Forum delegation followed, after which Rover Scout Najath Nabrees, representing the youth participants, addressed the audience.
The Chief Commissioner then presented air tickets to the 28th Asia-Pacific Scout Conference delegation, as well as to Rover Scout Chamika Mendis, who will represent Sri Lanka at the SDGs in Action Workshop at the Sangam World Centre, India, under the Global Youth Mobilization 2.0 Project of WOSM.
A video tribute was also screened in appreciation of the Chief Commissioner’s dedicated service to the movement over the past four years.
In his address, the Chief Commissioner, serving as Chief Guest, congratulated the delegations and urged them to represent Sri Lanka with pride, while contributing to the global Scouting community.
The evening concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Headquarters Commissioner Mr. Dharshana Ranathunga, bringing the ceremony to a close on an inspiring note.
