The Peace Education Program conducted by the The Prem Rawat Foundation and organized by the Sri Lanka Scout Association for the Northern Province Scout Districts was inaugurated this morning ( 24 June 2023) at the Vallikamam South Pradeshiya Sabha Auditorium.
The Opening Ceremony was held under the patronage of the Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. M.F. S. Muheed.
District Commissioner of Kankesanturai Scout District Mr. S.Kirupananthan delivered the Welcome Address.
Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. M.F.S. Muheed in his address explained the importance of the Peace program by an International Organisation and recalled the Messengers of Peace Program started in 2011 and since then it has continued with a number of projects and the benefits received from it.
He requested all participants to follow the two day program and to spread this knowledge to others.
Mr. Manoharan Ramanathan the facilitator of the Prem Rawat Foundation stated the significance of the Program and recalled his scouting days as a Queen Scout and as a Rover scout Mr. P. Ajithkumar, Headquarters Commissioner proposed the Vote of Thanks.
26 scout leaders from 5 Scout Districts are participating. The program will end on Sunday 25 June.
The Chief Commissioner Mr Janaprith Fernando will participate in the program on the final day. Mr. S. Amalaraj, Asst. Headquarters Commissoner and Mr. S. Jeyabavan former District Commissioner of KKS were also present.
