The Sri Lanka Scout Association has successfully completed the Global Support Assessment Tool (GSAT) assessment, which was held on 14th and 15th January 2023 at the National Scout headquarters in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Paulus Tjakrawan Taningdjaja, the GSAT Assessor from Thailand, and Ms. Imelda Samson, the Facilitator for GSAT from the Philippines, were present in Sri Lanka to conduct the assessment.

The assessment was coordinated by the GSAT Coordinator of Sri Lanka Scout Association, Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. M.F.S.Muheed, under the patronage of Chief Commissioner, Mr. Janaprith Fernando. Ten teams, led by their respective team leaders, participated in the GSAT assessment under the ten GSAT dimensions.

The Sri Lanka Scout Association completed the assessment with flying colors and is eagerly awaiting the release of the results from the Asia Pacific Regional Support Centre of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

The GSAT assessment is a comprehensive tool used by the WOSM to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in various areas, such as governance, management, programming, and finance. It is designed to help NSOs identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as areas for improvement, to better serve their members and communities.

The successful completion of the GSAT assessment by the Sri Lanka Scout Association is a significant achievement and a testament to their commitment to excellence in serving their members and contributing to the development of their country with good governance.

The Sri Lanka Scout Association has been an active member of the WOSM since 1953, and its programs have helped millions of young people develop their skills, leadership abilities, and values. With the completion of the GSAT assessment, the Sri Lanka Scout Association is poised to further enhance its programs and services, and continue its legacy of making a positive impact in the lives of young people and their communities.
