The workshop was held under the leadership of the Assistant Chief Commissioner Mr. Ruwan Ariyarathna and Hosting District Commissioner / Kurunegala District Commissioner Dr. Kosala Amunugama and the Kurunegala Branch Association.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Former Council member of Northwestern provincial council and President of the Lions club Kurunegala Attorney at law Mr. Piyumal Herath. The main objective of the workshop was to train the scout leaders and spread the message to scouts and others to reduce the number of electrical fatalities.
Mr. Jayanath Herath Director cooperate communications, Mr. Eranga Chandrasiri, Assistant Director Communications of PUCSL , Mr.I.M.N.Dissanayake and Mr. S.A. Jayaweera from Vocational Training Authority were the resource persons of the workshop.
Mr.Ruwan Ariyarathna, Assistant Chief Commissioner, Dr. Asanka Eriyawa, Headquarters Commissioner along with District Commissioners of Kurunegala Dr. Kosala Amunugama, Anuradhapura Mr.Sumith Amarathunga, Chillaw Mr.Nalin Ravindra, Polonnaruwa Mr. Yashoda Ranaweera and the more than 100 participants from Kurunegala, Wennappuwa, Anuradhapura, Chillaw and Polonnaruwa districts took-part in the workshop.
A Fellowship gathering was organized at the end of workshop along with some Christmas carols.
