Chief Commissioner Attorney at Law Mr. Janaprith Fernando addressed online from overseas and said this is the largest scout event organized by world Organisation of Scout Movement. He requested scouts to take up Amateur radio as a hobby and to get training from radio Society.
Mr. M.F. S. Muheed Deputy Chief Commissioner in his address requested the scouts to contact many scouts from other countries and learn about their cultures, practices and.other details about their countriy and tell about our country.
He thanked the Radio Society of Sri Lanka for the support in organizing the stations.
Deputy Chief Commissioner addressed the Radio Stations and the program continued with Mr. Anura of the Radio Society of Sri Lanka who gave a detailed explanation of Amateur Radio and the activities of their society.
The Scouts of Colombo participated in the JOTA and JOTI. The first JOTA/JOTI badge was presented to Mr. A nura of Radio Society, Asst. Headquarters Commissioner Messrs. Maiuran, Chamila Kumara, Kasmira Vijayatunga, Isuru Ediridsinghe, Loheeswaran and Rover Scouts were present for the event.
Twelve stations were operated across the country.
The entire event was organized under the direction of the International Commissioner Dr. Asanka Eriyawa.
