District Commissioners Conference starts off with a bang.

The District Commissioners Conference got off to a start this morning(11 July 2020) at 8.30 a.m. at the Kotelawala Defence University Auditorium in Ratmalana. Lighting of the traditional Oil lamp marked the commencement with the singing of the National Anthem followed by Religious Observances. The Scout Promise was renewed by all present led by Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. Janaprith Fernando.Those called to higher service during the last year were remembered.Chief Commissioner Major Gen. Milinda Peiris delivered the Welcome Address. Deputy Chief Commissioner presented the Introduction of the Conference Programme and theme. Mr. Ahmed Alhandawi Secretary General of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement and Mr. J. R. Pangilinan- Regional Director of the Asia Pacific Region delivered their addresses via Zoom which were very fruitful presentations. The Chief Guest Mr. Lalith Weratunga – Advisor to HE President of Sri Lanka delivered the keynote address which was productive giving useful advice to the Commissioners. The Conference is being attended by almost all District Commissioners and all Commissioners of National Headquarters. The Conference will end in the evening after a number of useful presentations and discussions.
