Asia Pacific Regional workshop on the Ticket to Life Project Was held today Wednesday 01st November 2023 at Swanee Grand Hotel, Negambo.

The Sri Lanka Scout Association (SLSA) has undertaken to host, a regional workshop for the Ticket to Life Project which is coordinated by the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) of the World Scout Movement.

The APR’s Ticket to Life Project, which comprises a number of individual projects in many countries, is a project aimed at bringing scouting to Street Children. In Sri Lanka, though we do not have ‘street’ children in the true sense of the word, we do have a project aimed at bringing scouting to semi-destitute children from low-income, underprivileged, and often single parents.

This Ticket to Life Workshop will see Scout coordinators of this project from 4 South Asian countries (Bangladesh, India, Nepal) attending the workshop along with Sri Lankan representatives from 4 scouting districts. The cost of the conference will be borne mainly by the Asia Pacific Region of the World Scout Movement and partially by the SLSA.
