In recognition of the contribution made by the Sri Lanka Scout Association to the “Arunu Dora” project implemented under the Clean Sri Lanka Programme, which aims to cultivate a reading-oriented society to nurture empathetic and culturally conscious individuals, a special tribute was paid to the Sri Lanka Scout Association.
The felicitation ceremony, along with the programme to distribute mobile libraries under Clean Sri Lanka provisions to ten selected local government institutions in the Western Province, was held on 07th February 2026 at the Presidential Secretariat.
The event was held under the patronage of Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Professor Chandana Abeyratne, Governor of the Western Province Mr. Hanif Yusuf, and Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, with the participation of Ministry Secretaries, senior government officials, heads of local government institutions, and members of the Clean Sri Lanka Programme.
In appreciation of the valuable contributions made by Scout Commissioners, Scout Leaders, and Scouts towards the “Arunu Dora” project, the tribute awarded to the Sri Lanka Scout Association was received, on the instructions of the Chief Commissioner, by Mr. Deshan Milinda, assistant Chief Commissioner (Development), and Mr. Samith Thalakiriyawa , Special Commissioner (Diplomatic Relations, Government Coordination, and Strategic Projects).
