THE PEACE EDUCATION PROGRAM ENDS SUCCESSFULLY

The Peace Education Program for Northern Province Scout Districts which commenced on 24 June 2023 was brought to a close with the closing ceremony on 25 June at the Valikamam South Pradeshiya Sabha Auditorium.
The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Chief Commissioner Attorney at Law Mr. Janaprith Fernando.
The two-day workshop was conducted by The Prem Rawat Foundation and facilitated by Mr. Manoharan Ramanathan.
The Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. M.F.S. Muheed summarized the proceedings of the workshop and requested all participants to spread the knowledge gained to others.
Mr. Manoharan Ramanathan the facilitator addressed and commented on the active participation of the scout leaders.
The Chief Commissioner Mr Janaprith Fernando said there should be real inner peace in everyone than peace on face value.
He commended the Prem Rawat Foundation for offering the Program to Sri Lanka Scout Association.
Certificates of Participation were presented by the Chief Commissioner.
The Silver Lion Award the highest Award for services to the Scout Movement was presented by the Chief Commissioner to Dr. Puvanenthiran, who has held many positions from being a scout to District Commissioner of KKS and a Trainer in his 72 years of scouting.
This Award could not be presented at the Awards Ceremony held last year due to his physical presence not being possible.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the District Commissioner of KKS District Mr. S. Kirupananthan.
