The Chief Guest Mr. Janaprith Fernando (Attorney-at-Law) Chief Scout Commissioner was welcomed by the Rover Scout Leader and Asst. Headquarters Commissioner Mr. S. Amalaraj. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest followed by the National Anthem, Religious Observances, and Renewal of the Scout Promise.
The Welcome Address was delivered by the Rover Scout Leader Mr S. Amalaraj and appreciated the support of the Chief Commissioner to start the Rover Crew and requested everyone’s cooperation to run the Crew successfully. The Rover Squires renewed the Promise and the badges were presented by the Rover Scout Leader Mr. Amalaraj. The Chief Commissioner presented the Scarves while ADC Rovers of Colombo presented the District Badges.
The Chief Commissioner in his address said this is the first time a Scout Group has been started at National Headquarters but will come under the Colombo District. He requested Rovers who joined to be of service and to participate actively in Rovering. A token of appreciation was presented to the Chief Commissioner by the RSL Mr. S. Amalaraj. The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Rover Mate Amjad Moulana.
