164th Birth Anniversary of the Founder of Scout Movement and Tree planting in connection with the 100,000 Tree planting project of the Sri Lanka Scout Association took place at the Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Hospital premises along with International Mother Language Day Blood Donation Campaign hosted by the Homagama District Scout Association. His Excellency Thariq Rafiqul Islam High Commissioner for Bangladesh was the Chief Guest received by Major General Milinda Peiris Chief Commissioner and Vice Chancellor of the Kotelawala Defence University. Dr. Anil Perera Homagama District Commissioner delivered the welcome Address. Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. Janaprith Fernando and Chief Commissioner Major General Peiris gave details of the Mother Language Day and the Tree Planting Project in their addresses. HE High Commissioner for Bangladesh addressed the gathering and appreciated the work done by Sri Lanka Scout Association. Rover Scouts of the Kotelawala Defence University also participated. A special feature of the event was His Excellency the High Commissioner also joined in donating blood.
