The Chief Commissioners Conference of South Asian Association of National Scout Organisations (SAANSO) took place virtually on Sunday 12th December 2021 from 2.00 to 6.00 p.m. Sri Lanka Time.
Delegations from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka participated. Mr. Mohammed Mozammel Haque Khan Chief Commissioner of Bangladesh the incumbent Chairperson presided. After the Opening Remarks by the Chairperson, Asia Pacific Regional Director Mr. J. R. Pangilinan addressed the gathering, followed by the addresses of the Chief Commissioners of the seven participating countries.

All countries made presentations of their respective activities in 2020/2021 and the challenges faced by them. The Secretary General of SAANSO Mr. Abdullah Rasheed presented his Report for the period 2019 to 2021 and referred to the major decisions made at he last Conference of the adoption of a SAANSO Constitution and an MOU. The SAANSO Calendar of activities for 2022 was approved by the Conference. Sri Lanka will host a SAANSO TRAINERS CONFERENCE in July 2022 and a SAANSO ALT Course in November 2022.
The Conference decided Bhutan will host the next SAANSO Conference in 2022 and the Chairmanship was handed over to the Chief Commissioner of Bhutan Mr. Tenzin Thinley. The Conference also decided for Pakistan to host the next SAANSO Jamboree in 2022.

The Sri Lanka Delegation comprised of Mr. Janaprith Fernando – Chief Commissioner, Dr. Rajeeva Peiris – International Commissioner, Mr. M. F. S. Muheed – Special Commissioner and SAANSO Coordinator for Sri Lanka, Mr. Abdul Mawahib – Headquarters Commissioner and Mr. Lakshan Perera – District Commissioner of Negombo. The Conference ended with a strong plea made by India that SAANSO should become more stronger.
