St. Thomas' Old Scout Association (STOSA) harmonized against the hunger of poorest villagers under CoVid lockdown

STOSA Vege 001

Matale St.Thomas’ Old Scouts Association (STOSA) deeply understood the difficulty of low income families facing especially under lockdown situation hence the team organized to bring a pack of vegetables to the doorstep of identified families who were essentially in need of some aid. In keeping with the spirit of Scouting, the Aim of the activity was to do a little help to fellowmen and the country wherever possible in difficult times.

STOSA members will bear  the total expenses up to the end and as a the first step under the activity, packs of Vegetables over 1500 Kgs of total weight were  handed over to Rattota Divisional Secretariat office as a support to the program run by Government at Secretariat level. Officers were supposed to distribute those to over 15 GN Divisions where at least 300 families will be benefited.

Few more packs of vegetables were directly distributed to doorsteps under the coordination of a government officer and a  limited number of members of the STOSA were involved more responsibly and  carefully  to work during the curfew hours considering the instructions given by health authorities.

Scouts always there serve the  country and  fellowmen.
