The Workshop organized by Sri Lanka Scout Association in collaboration with Asia Pacific Region of WOSM was inaugurated today Saturday 15 February 2020 at the Sri Lanka Foundation, Colombo 7 at 9.45 a.m.

The programme commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest to the accompaniment of the Kandyan Dancers followed by the National Anthem and lighting of the traditional oil lamp.
The Chief Guest was Mr. Janaprith Fernando - World Scout Committee Member and Deputy Chief Commissioner and acting on behalf of Chief Commissioner Major General Milinda Peiris who is overseas.
Mr. Prabath Kularatne Asst Chief Commissioner - Media, PR and MOPand MOP  Coordinator for Sri Lanka delivered the Welcome Address followed by an address by the International Commissioner Mr. Kapila Kalyana Perera.
Mr.Prasanna Shrivastava - Director from APR Office gave a brief history of MOP and the workshop programme. 
The Chief Guest Mr. Janaprith Fernando in his address recalled the history of MOP Projects carried out in Sri Lanka and gave an insight into the strength of the Scout Movement in the World and the various projects implemented by Scouts.
30 participants from the Scout Districts of Sri Lanka are at the workshop. 
The Resource Persons from APR are M/s. Prasanna Shrivastava - Director   Development Support and MOP  at APR Regional Office, Mr. Amir Hamzah from Malaysia and Mr. Mohamed Fowzoon  of Maldives.

The workshop is supported by a strong team scout officials as Staff Members.
