A Special Ceremony was held this morning ( 28 July 2023) at the Presidential Secretariat to present the National Flag to the Sri Lanka Contingent attending the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea from 1-12:August 2023.
The Chief Scout Commissioner Attorney -at -Law, Mr. Janaprith Fernando welcomed His Excellency Ranil Wickramasinghe, President and Chief Scout of Sri Lanka and briefed about Sri Lanka’s participation at 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea. The largest contingent Sri Lanka is sending to a World Jamboree .
The Chief Scout presented the National Flag to the contingent Leader Dr. Rajeeva Pieris, International Commissioner in the presence of senior scout officials, Scout commissioners, scout leaders and scouts.
His Excellency wished the contingent and recalled how Korea has become a developed country and requested everyone to join together to make Sri Lanka a developed country by 2048.
Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, Chief of Staff of His Excellency the President was also present.
