GRAND RECEPTION TO CHIEF COMMISSIONER ON ARRIVAL WITH SILVER ELEPHANT AWARD

A Grand Reception was accorded at the Bandaranaike International Airport to Mr. Janaprith Fernando, Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scout Association on his return to Sri Lanka today after receiving the SILVER ELEPHANT AWARD conferred on him by the Bharath Scouts and Guides of India during the 19th National Jamboree of India in Lucknow from 24th to 28th November 2025.
It is the highest award of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner, International Commissioner, Assistant Chief Commissioner Media, and Headquarters Commissioners, District Commissioners, Scout Officials, Scout Leaders and scouts with a large gathering of about 250 were present.
The Cub scouts of Negombo presented the Grand Yell followed by the Guard of Honour by the Senior Scouts.

The Award was presented by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Anandi Ben Patel at Raj Bhawan, official residence of the Governor.
National Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides Mr. K.K. Kandelwal and other officials were present.

The Award was presented in recognition of his exemplary services to the scout movement.
